Become an alumnae interviewer for Wellesley! Each year many prospective students from the South Florida area request interviews from Wellesley alumnae. As a volunteer interviewer, you provide a valuable service to both the Board of Admission and to prospective students. Interviewers help personalize the application process and give students an opportunity to learn more about Wellesley. For many South Florida students who are not able to visit Wellesley, you may be their only personal connection with Wellesley. As a volunteer interviewer, this is a great opportunity to represent Wellesley to young South Florida women.
You will be invited to a brief orientation in the late summer to familiarize you with the interview process, which begins in the fall and ends in late February. When a student requests an interview, the Coordinator will contact a volunteer who lives or works close to the student to confirm their interest and availability. Then the student will contact you directly to schedule an interview date and time. Interviews typically last one to one and one half hours, and can take place at your home, the student's home or a neutral location such as a library or cafe. After you have agreed to conduct the interview, the Coordinator will mail you a packet of information to share with the student. The packet also contains tips for volunteers on conducting the interview and writing the interview report.
